Sannyasi vs Gotta Keep Working

My ambition has been to die at my desk.  Here is a version of this.  Neither Moses nor Jesus retired.  The apostles Peter and John didn't retire either.  Gotta keep working.  But perhaps we can become spiritual ascetics and embedded in society working at the same time?

You can. I shall send you a transcript of a talk given by an acknowledged Vedanta Guru.

My ambition is to stay at the stove. I meant to write "die" to chime in with your sentiment but will let it stand for all it stands for.

Good luck to both of us.

@Rummuser, thanks for the article. I am tempted to sit down and do a compare and contrast with Christian principles, since letting go of ownership is one of the core ones. My personal problem is that at work I am being asked to take on more responsibility (um, ownership) in order to bring up the next generation. But I have a post from the beginning of the book of Ecclesiastes posted on my wall to remind me that everything I do will be forgotten and to try not to get personally absorbed in things.

@Ursula, I think I get it. U will die standing at the stove, and I will die sitting at the desk. And the nursing homes won't need to worry about us.
