Mark Twain Pilgrimage

This is the town of Angel's Camp, California.  Mark Twain's picture is everywhere along with pictures of frogs.  This is where he picked up a story that eventually morphed into "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras Country".  After reading Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer I would never have thought he had started out his writing as a miner here in California.

You know my first true crush I had at an age as tender as to be counted in single digit numbers? Huckleberry Finn. I was besotted with him. Still am. Now in a motherly fashion as time has stood still for him whilst mine has marched on.

Hmmm. Huck isn't quite what I imagine to be a good example of German discipline, but I don't really know anything about such things. His was the life I wanted when I was younger.

I read everything Mark Twain wrote when I was young, including that story about the two-headed man. :)
