ECB RIP?

ECB, as we all should know by now, stands for European Cancerous Bureaucracy, of which the European Central Bank is a small component.  For those who are now trying to dump the Pound, I would suggest a bit of caution.  The most resilient species in the universe is the government bureaucrat, so I fully expect them to already be scheming how to subvert the decision of the voters.  For example, to disentangle any existing bureaucratical construct will undoubtedly require several explicit laws, numerous court orders, and replacing those in the chain of command with someone who is accepting of the will of the people.  A leprechaun is undoubtedly easier to find.

On the other hand, there is the argument that the bureaucrats will sabotage the economy in order to deliberately discredit the Brexit movement, as if they hadn't already been sabotaging everything, including the economy.  But they can always make things worse.

So my final prophecy is that I don't know how this is going to fall out in the end.  The news media was undoubtedly behind all this since it has compelled me to look at news sites that I wouldn't have done if things proceeded in a more orderly manner.  Time to stock up on popcorn, kickback, and enjoy the show.

Brexit has won. Quite what it will do to the EC and the UK itself will unfold over the next few years. You will need a lot of pop corn.

Hi Looney,

"Rule Britannia (..) Britons will never be slaves!" lol

Thank G-d, the Brexit won, as I expected in spite of the polls. The EU may fall in less than a decade if it doesn't reform, but if it does then it may take longer to fall. As for Britain, it will live on, it will survive just fine and serve as an example to other countries. What we should worry about is the fact that Scotland is going in for the Independence again and Northern Ireland's Sinn Fein asked for a referendum for the reunification of both Irelands (oh the fun is about to start). Then we have Spain and Cataluña, France and Corsica...we still have a lot of work ahead...

:)

Have a blessed weekend, my friend.

Cheers

@Rummuser, the one thing I am most curious about is whether or not they continue deliberately importing millions of followers of the M---- religion, and make it known in the schools that they consider their religion to be superior to the indigenous one of Europe. Poor U seems to think she is the target, thanks to the dishonesty of the intellectuals.

@Max, others have mentioned Scotland, but I am more in doubt: The Scotland secession vote wasn't as close, and that was back when oil prices were much higher and Scotland was going to fund its left-wing totalitarian-anarchist utopia with oil revenue from the North Sea, that they smugly allocated entirely to themselves. No doubt many will still vote that way, but I still have some hope that there are a few rational beings up there.

Just seeing an article noting that Trump is there conveniently to celebrate the UK's new Independence Day!

Looney,

Ha, we are talking about a centuries-old Scottish dream. Left-wing or not, oil or not, sooner or later they will be independent. Historical justice.

I saw Trump too: re-opening his Golf resort up in the Highlands. Good timing too.

Cheers

This reminds me of the famous Clint Eastwood quote: "dy'n ain't much of a livin boy".

Scotland will vote to become slaves of a malevolent EU bureaucracy just so it can imagine it is free of the UK!

lol indeed. And what is pathetic is that they tried to blackmail the UK with a veto (to block the UK from leaving) but then forgot to read the Treaty of Lisbon and then suffered the humiliation of having the EU telling them: oops, you can't do that and if you leave the UK you will have to apply to the EU just like any other country. Politicians are ridiculous people and you can see how crazy they go over change.

Politicians like to preach about change but they are not ready for it. Nevertheless, change comes eventually...

Cheers
