Congratulations, you are now officially "Gramps"

They tell me that my first grandson made his entrance into the world early this morning.  I am certainly pleased and looking forward to giving him and my daughter and her husband a visit.  But I am also wondering how many rules of political correctness I am breaking by declaring that I am now a grandfather.

The job is wonderful, the job title is a little daunting when it is the first time. Congratulations to you and your family!

@Inklings, I am disappointed that you and Dee Ice Hole couldn't keep on blogging, cause I was looking for hints! But thanks!

@James, thanks to you as well!

Many many congratulations, Looney. I too was a first grandchild by a long margin, my grandfather 58 at the time. Wonderful man. Long time dead - as befits the old.

Enjoy.

Congratulations to both of you. It is wonderful news indeed.

@Ursula, after some traveling, I can now say in a Biblical-like manner, "I have seen my grandson and can now die in peace". But before that I must help with the chores a bit.

@Rummuser, it is a most peculiar feeling catching up on the blogs with my grandson next to me being sedated by a robotic rocker.

Looney, we are now great-grandparents, and that is a harder title to get used to than grandparents. :) We have a 16 month old great granddaughter living where you do, and a 3 month old great grandson.

@Inklings, looks like I am a generation behind you.

I just got my first grandson the end of JUne, but to date have still not been allowed to make it public! Facebook etiquette demands that the parents be the first ones to post a picture of him. They know this, and therefore aren't posting any pictures. However, my son in law's mother doesn't know this rule and has already posted a picture of the baby. Does that mean I am free to do likewise? I sort of doubt it.....

Oh, and INklings still blogs, but because of a crazy ex-son-in-law's abuse, was forced to make her blog private. :(

@Delirious, you need to hack their account and post the pictures anyway. Or you could threaten to post their most embarrassing moments so that all their friends can see unless they get their pictures up.
