A few months ago, California was $14 billion short. This year it is $20 billion.

Interestingly, a number of major budget cuts have already been made, including 10% to the California public school system.

Meanwhile, Alaska has a surplus of about $8 billion. Thankfully our governor is smart enough to save some of that...

Yes, I am very upset about this. My high schooler will probably be losing the chance to take an elective. My grade schooler will be losing the music program, and a librarian.
