There is an interesting article on the perplexing discoveries made by a recent satelite regarding the Sun. One of the things that is obvious from this is that scientists really don't have that much understanding about how stars work. Of course, that won't stop them from making all kinds of cosmological pronouncements and writing books and scoffing at anyone who thinks that they don't know much at all. Confidence and knowledge are inversely correlated in science, but we won't tell that to the kids in school.
